FDJ Takes Ligue 1+ Pro to 29,000 Retail Venues Via ParionsSport

FDJ United will put top-flight French football inside its ParionsSport retail estate. The distribution deal, signed with Ligue 1+ Pro, covers a network of close to 29,000 venues nationwide. Bars, cafés, restaurants and ParionsSport points of sale that opt in can subscribe to the service and screen every Ligue 1 McDonald's match. Under the agreement, FDJ becomes a distribution partner for LFP Media's broadcast and IP platform.

Live matches are only part of the package. Subscribers also get more than 27 hours of live programming every week: magazine shows, expert analysis, editorial output. Then there's the Saturday evening multiplex, a fixture of the French football weekend for years.

LFP Media is treating the FDJ tie-up as a distribution play. Ligue 1+ launched as a direct-to-consumer platform, and the company needs reach past the living room. Venues where supporters already gather hand it a second front. Olivier Bramly, chief executive of LFP Media, framed the deal around that. Football's emotions, he said, take on their full meaning when they're shared, and Ligue 1+ Pro is built to give supporters more chances to experience the big moments together in local establishments.

Bramly described the FDJ United agreement as an important step toward that ambition. FDJ's network, he said, along with its long-standing involvement in sport, will help bring Ligue 1 McDonald's and Ligue 2 BKT closer to their audiences and lift the profile of both competitions at community level.

At FDJ, the deal slots into a wider B2B push. The Paris-listed group keeps building beyond its traditional lottery point-of-sale business, into payment services, retail technology, and now the distribution of Ligue 1 broadcast packages to hospitality venues. Group CEO Stéphane Pallez has named faster B2B growth in France and abroad as a core commercial objective.

Timing matters on the betting side too. In the second half of the year, FDJ will reposition ParionsSport as a retail-only sports betting brand. Back in April, the group moved ParionsSport's online operations to Unibet.fr, delivering on a key objective of its €4bn acquisition of Kindred Group and cutting the number of brands it runs in France. What's left is a ParionsSport that lives in shops, bars and cafés. Which is exactly where this Ligue 1+ Pro distribution sits.

Karl Lorenzon, who heads FDJ's retail sports betting business, put local operators at the centre of the group's sports strategy. Retail partners, he said, are key players in local life and an essential link in bringing sports fans together. The ParionsSport and Ligue 1+ association, he argued, opens new opportunities for shared experiences and synergies between retailers, supporters and French football, with proximity at the heart of the sporting experience. The coming season, he added, will be felt more intensely, and the group is proud of it.

For affiliates and retail-facing operators, the practical read is simple. FDJ is turning thousands of licensed premises into viewing venues tied to a betting brand, and the footfall that follows a Saturday multiplex is the same footfall that walks past a ParionsSport counter. Venues that want in can subscribe to Ligue 1+ Pro through the FDJ network ahead of the new campaign.
