Primero Games Closes Win Systems Gaming Unit Deal
Primero Games has closed its acquisition of Win Systems' Gaming Division, picking up the Gold Club electronic roulette line, the manufacturing base behind it, and a substantial installed footprint. Financial terms weren't disclosed. The deal lifts Primero well beyond its US home market, putting more than 3,000 gaming positions under its control across Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Panama.
The division's existing customer relationships and operations in other jurisdictions stay intact, which gives Primero a ready-made platform for international growth. Existing customers keep the same product lineup, while Primero plans to layer in its own game content, technology, and development firepower. That combination is the whole point. Primero brings a portfolio of over 100 original titles, its Hurricane platform for regulated and emerging markets, and the Spark server-based solution, which includes business intelligence, progressive jackpots, subscription options, and player engagement tools. Win Systems contributes a solid customer base, international operational experience, and genuine manufacturing capability.
Primero already runs studios in the US, the UK, and Canada, so the integration draws on a fairly broad base. Gold Club roulette is a fresh product category for the company, one that stretches its offering beyond anything it had built on its own. Chairman Mike Macke called the transaction a key step in the plan to build a diversified, global gaming company. Win Systems CEO Eric Benchimol echoed that, noting that pairing Primero's development skills with Win Systems' installed base and manufacturing could get new offerings to market faster.
Dario Zutel, Win Systems' Executive Chairman, framed the sale as the start of a new phase for the Gaming Division, with Primero well placed to grow what the division had already built. The teams and infrastructure that came with the deal will keep supporting customers in their current markets. Over time, Primero invests and gradually adds more games, technology, and products. Operators working with the expanded company should see a wider catalogue of products and services as the two sides mesh their respective strengths.
